West of Langenhovenpark against a moderate hill, this family house will be built. A young couple with three small boys wanted a family home with a nice entertainment area. The brief asked for something modern, yet appropriate for the area. We deliberately looked at Frank Lloyd Wright's prairie houses as well as Marku Zanuso Coromandel house for inspiration. Three options were designed and although all of them could have worked the clients decided on option 1. The approach is from the east and once inside one overlooks the entertainment area. Materials are concrete, sandstone, corrugated iron and rendered walls.
