Liedjiebos B&B

Liedjiesbos B&B (2008 -)

What started off as a conversion of two barns into a residence on a smallholding in Groenvlei, outside Bloemfontein, later became the awarded Liedjiesbos B&B. The two steel sheds steel structures were kept, but the infill and roofs were converted into a modern Free State vernacular style.

The owners turned the gardens into an indigenous garden oasis while the farm dam serves as a swimming pool. The fact that they grow their own vegetables and garden plants made it a sustainable complex. See planned additions in projects.

The owners are art collectors and did several installations on the property, including works from renowned artist Willem Boshoff (gate, letter-wall) and land art artist Strijdom van der Merwe.
